GUEST MESSAGE EVENT

Now you can create triggers that fire when you receive a message from a guest. We've received a number of requests for this and now it's implemented. The added benefit is that the trigger will not fire if a message has a high spam score, so you don't get slammed with spam notifications. If you receive a high number of guest messages then we recommend you not use this feature, but instead use the Message Feed within the mobile and web applications.

CUSTOM RENTAL INFORMATION

When creating triggers it's often important to include some rental specific information in your message template. This information may be directions to the rental, instructions on using the stove, or some other important information. However, after entering rental specific information, the template is no longer rental agnostic. This requires you to create a unique trigger for each rental and increases the number of triggers to keep track of, and the possibility for error.

To solve this problem we've created five new custom information fields in your rental settings. You can access these fields by clicking the new Custom Information link in the lower lefthand context menu. You can also include your custom information in your message templates using the data dictionary.

We hope this helps streamline your automation setup and decreases the number of required message templates.

NO MORE WEEKEND NIGHTS

The weekend rates option in Tokeet has been plagued by problems since the beginning. First, different users have various definitions of the weekend. Some users consider Friday and Saturday night as the weekend, while others prefer Saturday and Sunday night. Then, once we introduced Day Specific Pricing, users became frustrated as their weekend rates stop working whenever they set Day Specific Pricing.

Due to these and other issues we have decided to remove the Weekend Night price option from Tokeet rates. Now, whenever a user needs to set a different rate for weekends, they must use Day Specific Pricing. This simplifies our rates and makes the rate creation process much more straightforward, no more special conditions.

MULTIPLE GUEST PHONE NUMBERS

Now you may add multiple phone numbers for your guest. Each guest may have as many phone numbers as needed. You may also specify a primary phone number to be used on invoices and in email and other messages.


INVOICE CHANGES

At Tokeet we are constantly making small changes to improve our usability. In fact, we make about 100 small changes to our front-end and back-end systems per week. Some changes you may notice, others go unrecognized by most users. Today we released a few small changes to the Tokeet invoice. Now you may edit your invoice logo, guest details, and account address directly from the invoice. The edit options are located on the main invoice page and you may update the respective information during or after invoice creation. These updates will be immediately visible to your guest even after you've sent your invoice.

Please note that updating the guest information from the invoice will also update the information in your inquiry, however it will not change the guest information of previously sent invoices. When you update the invoice logo this will change all previously sent invoices, including the current one. Also, updating the address will change your company address on all invoices and Tokeet bills.

BOOKING.COM CONNECTION WIZARD

We spend a good bit of time and resources supporting our users. Although we enjoy the interactions, ultimately we hope that you wouldn't need to contact support at all. The only way this is going to happen is if we make Tokeet incredibly easy to set up and use.

Today we released our Booking.com setup wizard. The goal of the wizard is to walk you through the setup and configuration of your booking.com connections. It answers all the questions that we are normally asked in support and tries to prevent costly and frustrating misconfigurations from occurring in the first place. The wizard is automatically engaged if Tokeet detects that your booking.com connection is potentially not complete. Simply click on any of your booking.com connections. If the connection is complete, then you will see the normal connection details page. Otherwise, you'll be taken to the connection wizard.

Hate the way Tokeet shows dates in the date selection fields? Well, stress no more. Now you can change the format of your dates by adjusting your preferences in your Account settings.

OUR PRICE IS CHANGING

Two years ago I purchased my second vacation rental home, and just like you, I needed a system to help me manage it. I began researching all of the popular solutions and was surprised at how expensive and unusable many of them were. As a developer, I knew that a better solution was possible. So after much deliberation, I decided to leave my existing job, build a team, and start Tokeet with my own money.

On January 1st, 2016 Tokeet came out of Beta and we began advertising to the public. At the time we had a basic reservation manager and allowed only iCal synchronization. It was a simple product that some found useful, but many of you wanted more. We’ve worked tirelessly over the past 16 months to grow the product from these simple beginnings into an extensive platform filled with many of the features you need. 

It’s been a crazy period and we’ve moved fast, breaking a few (many) things along the way. We implemented your feedback quickly, often times the same day, and listened intently to everything you had to say. Our staff is filled with mostly engineers, even our support staff, and we simply love building things. We provided real-time customer support for every user, even the free accounts, and now have 24/7 real-time support with team members in 5 countries.

Tokeet has become popular in a big way. We’ve been growing rapidly, bursting at the seams, and simply cannot keep up without further significant investments. We’ve considered outside investors-- most of our competitors have already gone down this path, but every investor wants to change the way we work. Either by drastically increasing our price to match our competition, limiting our support and features, or focusing the company on larger customers. These are all contrary to what we believe and stand for as a company. Tokeet must remain a PMS for the masses and we don’t plan to compromise on customer support.
So now we’re forced to change the one thing which we’ve never changed: our price. We’ve kept the same pricing from the start, even after adding 4 new products to the platform. 

In most cases, Tokeet is 10% - 25% the price of our closest competitors. We plan to double our pricing on average to 20% - 50% of the competition pricing. This new pricing will take effect on May 1st and you can see it on our new pricing page.
This price change will allow us to continue in our current direction and expand our products and features. If you think we’re great now, wait till you see what we have for you in 2017. We plan to completely change this industry forever.

For those of you who have been with us from the beginning, you’ve seen us grow and helped us get better. All of you have been a part of our journey, and we’re immensely grateful to have you as our customers. We would like to reward your loyalty by offering you the chance to keep your existing pricing for the next year or two, no matter what else changes.

Customers who subscribe before May 1st may keep their current plan for the next 1-2 years by purchasing special one or two year plans which are billed one-time and upfront. These special yearly plans are not available online, so email us directly to inform us of your interest. Simply reply to this email. If we don't hear from you then you will automatically be switched to the new pricing after May 1st.

TOKEET SIGNATURE

We are very excited to announce our brand-new, fully integrated document signature feature called Tokeet Signature. With Tokeet Signature, there’s no need to use expensive electronic signature providers or require your guests to print, sign, scan, then send back rental agreements or other contracts.

With the new Signature feature, you can create multiple contract templates, automatically populate a template with your guest’s information, then send that contract directly to your guest. Your guest will receive a link to the contract which they can read and then sign from any device using a mouse or their finger. Once the contract is signed, both you and your guest will receive a digital copy for your records. There will also be a copy of the executed contract in your Tokeet File Cabinet for future reference.

This fully integrated electronic signature feature is designed to work seamlessly with other Tokeet features including automated triggers, message templates, the Tokeet data dictionary, and more.

NEW INVOICE DASHBOARD

We've just released our newly redesigned invoice dashboard. This dashboard provides a better view into your past 30 days invoices. Now you can see summary statistics about the total paid invoices, the average invoice amount, the total outstanding invoices, and the past due invoices. There is also a convenient line chart to graphically represent your invoice activity.
